UPPER TIERS: DOCTOR WHO SERIES 2... REVIEWED... KIND OF

There's another Bubblegun Extra on the way for the Top Tiers - probably tomorrow - and there's a brand new ep for EVERYONE up now, which features Actionman.

This one is our long-awaited (and very long) review of the latest series of Doctor Who. If you've loved this era... I'm genuinely pleased for you. But probably don't listen to this, because we... did not. And we're not alone in that, it would seem. Strap yourselves in, and set the controls for 1 hour and 40 minutes of relentless negativity!

So much stuff that'd I've never really considered about the latest series but can't disagree with now you've said it out loud. I guess that's simply the insight you bring to the table being a professional writer. One thing I very much had picked up on myself though is the "empty spectacle", and not just the recent series. It's something I've often felt about RTD's Who going right back to the Eccleston days. It was the Moffat era when the show really worked for me. I fully get what you mean when you've said in the past about the characters not talking in a natural, real world way but it never really bothered me. I suppose because I'm not a people person, and I don't feel able to relate to others at the best of times...? Anyway I wish I could jump into the time vortex and re-experience the Moffat era again because RTD is really taking the biscuit!

On the doctors romantic/sex life: I feel like Rose is the exception that proved the rule, I don't think the doctor should ever be in a relationship with a human again because it *is* weird and makes the doctor question their mortality and morality. With Rogue I cant remember if hes explicitly mentioned to be human or whatever but at least he is from a technologically advanced society maybe not on same level as time lords but at least similar enough that you could see why the doctor would fall for him A theoretically immortal and technologically advanced being such as the doctor being in or seeking a relationship with a normal human just feels a bit weird like a modern human wanting to get with a caveman or something idk if that makes sense??
