UPDATE ON THE AD STRIKES
Added 2025-04-11 13:30:14 +0000 UTCQuick update... we had all our ad strikes lifted. Hurrah! That was quick. So... no idea whether that was an automated strike or some idiot reporting us, but either way... all okay, as we knew it would be once a real person looked at them.
However, we're able to see our analytics for the chicken video and the border one, and... we can see why they've done badly. The chicken vid is getting pushed out to the most bizarre, random selection of other videos - none of them are relevant - while the border one... was largely getting pushed out to Cheapshow. Again. Still. And despite all the times it appeared on the Cheapshow, we got a grand total of 52 seconds watched from their viewers. Because it's about as far away from Cheapshow as you can get.
So... we don't know what to do about it if this is going to keep happening. We've even floated just starting a new channel from scratch, with the same sort of content but none of the baggage, but that's such a mountain to climb.
GAH!

A suggestion for if you are doing a new channel: leave the current vids where they are. A mistake people make is to instantly post their back catalogue on the new channel, but this makes the algo go "oh this person does 5 videos per day this is awesome" and then drop you like a bag of dog shit when you go back to your regular schedule

A lego reviewer I have watched for literal decades has recently moved to a new channel (JangBricks) because of kinda similar reasons. Not who his videos were being pushed to but because they were constantly getting flagged for random shite and he ended up effectively 'shadow banned' where he could no longer see any growth no matter what. Starting a new channel would be a pain, but definitely well worth it in my opinion if its a good way to try and escape the pigeonhole that the algorithm has put you in

Ok, that sounds rather like a very half-arsed and perhaps naive opinion, but the best I can offer with current available time, energy and brain-power! Oh, and excellent that the strike was lifted! Hurrah for non-artificial intelligence!
