In other news… the new vid is doing good! We – well, I - had a bit of a wobble in the first 24hrs, because it seemed to be going badly. But! I tinkered with the title and the thumbnail, and on Friday evening it started to take off. Right now it’s on a level with Big Cats, which was our last big vid, and it’s way, way, way above UFOs.

I’ve said before, that I’m happy if we get over 5,000 views, and 10,000 seems like LOADS to me. Maybe I should aim higher, but I’m guess I’m not greedy.

It’s really interesting looking at the analytics, because it shows us that the main reason we weren’t doing well at first is because YouTube was only promoting us to – once again – Cheapshow’s YouTube channel. We can even see how many clicks we got from that. Literally one… and they watched for 17 seconds before clicking away.

I don’t know if that happened because we made some of the older unlisted videos public again, but… for all the grief we got when we put all of those into an unlisted playlist… it was the right call for us. What are we meant to do when we’re only getting pushed out to Cheapshow, and the majority of Cheapshow viewers would only watch Digi if Paul and Eli are in it?!

Looking at other stats… most of our viewers are middle-aged, and most of them watch us on the TV. This is another reason why we have to stay firm, because I think they’d prefer to watch something long-form at the weekend. So, all good. Put on loads of new subs too, so after three months off of the main channel we’re back with a vengeance.

I’m hopeful you’ll have part 2 of Poland next week. The first half has been edited, and I’m now about to dive into the back end. It’s very different to the first part. It stands on its own, but also works as a part 2 if you’ve seen the first one. I’m also still looking up stuff for the cutaways, and stumbled across something hair-raising that I think points to the next overseas trip we do.

This one is – I think – even more interesting than the first one. Plus, it’s somehow funnier while also being a bit more sombre. Maybe it’s that collision of tones which makes it funnier. I dunno. But I’m very excited for you to see it.
