Hello, you lot. Well, we’ve had our Christmas Part 1… which comprised our trip to Brighton, followed by the rest of the kids – and grandsons – coming to visit. That was lovely.
The rest of our Christmas should be fairly quiet by our standards, but that’s what we need. I think there’ll be a lot of reflecting and taking stock of the past 12 months, which have been properly life-changing.
We still may have another video out for you before the end of the year. Not having much else to do for once means both Sanja and I are kind of chomping at the bit to film something.
So, the above video looks as if it’s kind of the full stop on the year, but there might be something more (and yes: the full interviews and outtakes are on the way). We’ve a couple of ideas, but it depends how knackered we feel! Also, we’d like to do a Biffo’s Brain before New Year, so we’ll keep you posted on that. But, again, all depends on how exhausted we are.
We’ve got to get Digi Level 2 finished in January – no excuses – and Drong’s Challenge is also coming on the second channel, but we’ve started thinking about next year on the main channel as well.
The big bucket list goals are to film in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - and to film something outside of the UK. We want to spend some time filming in Devon and Cornwall too, which is an area we’ve not really covered yet.
With my mum safe in the nursing home, and the house now sold (well, as of tomorrow) we’re actually going to have more time to get stuff done than we’ve had in years. It hasn’t exactly been easy navigating the past couple of years, but it feels like I’m finally entering a new chapter of my life… and Digi is too. I’m excited to build on everything we’ve learned this year; the biggest year for the channel since Digitiser The Show. It feels like, especially with the last couple, that we’ve nailed this format now.
I'm so proud of what we've done, and so grateful that you've stuck with us as we transitioned to a new format.
I know we put out fewer videos than in the past, but I know you appreciate that something like the UFO video is ten times the effort. It seems to be working for us. They won’t always be such epics, but I want the production values to remain at that level, whatever the length of the vids.
I truly mean it when I say none of this would be possible without your support. Since the pandemic, I don’t earn what I used to, so there’s no way we could pay for the travel, hotels, and take the days off of day job stuff without Patreon and our channel members. So thank you as always. It honestly makes the biggest difference.
Speak soon,
Paul (and Sanja, natch)
