WATCH THE (BLUE) SKIES

Hello Patrons!

I’ve got a cough/cold/sore throat thing. It's not bad, but the next vid may be delayed slightly. We’d planned to go away to film at the end of this week, but we’re going to bump it to the start of next week instead. Sanja also seems to be coming down with it now, so at least we’re ill at the same time, and should be back to full health by the time we do filming.

However, this week we’ll still be working on the research and voice-over bits of the video, and I’ll be editing some Digi Level 2 stuff. I’m also trying desperately to get an interview with an astrophysicist. I’ve reached out to a few but had no luck so far. If by chance any of you happen to know one (or are one) please put me in touch!

I do know Professor Brian Cox's wife, but I'm too scared to ask.

Nicely, we did hear back from one self-styled YouTube “professor” – who has a biiiig channel – who had seen our big cat video and is up for a chat about UFOs. We just want to balance it out with the more grounded, science-based, side of things too. 

In other news… I’m planning to post a bit more often on Bluesky. I’m also on FB, Threads and Mastodon (and Instagram), and I’ll still post new Digi video links to the rancid Muskhole for those still there, but Bluesky seems to be the Xitter alternative that has the most momentum. Patreon will remain the main place I post though.

I’d stopped posting on Xitter a while back, save for Digi links. I didn’t make a big fuss about it, because… well, who cares? It’s just a drop in the ocean. 

I don’t judge anybody for staying on there – we all spent years building it up, so it’s a hard habit to break. And I totally get the argument that if we walk away it’s like we’re surrendering - but at the same time, I can’t in all good conscience feel like I’m supporting Musk in any shape or form.

This isn’t even Trump-won-the-election thing. The Democrats ran a feeble, tone-deaf, campaign and – frankly – deserved to lose. I’m not saying Trump deserved to win – I mean, the man’s a literal monster – but people just don’t feel seen, let alone heard, by those in power. The current UK government would do well to learn this lesson...

Unfortunately, Musk's power doesn't seem to be contained by democracy, which is problematic given I think he might be an actual sociopath.

Anyway. Screw politics. S'boring.
