MONDAY UPDATE

Happy Monday, gang.

Still coughing, but I think I’m out the other side. It’s gone from that irritating tickly cough to something a bit meatier and more satisfying. Sanja seems to be fighting it, but at the minute… it’s not manifesting fully. We’re babysitting again this weekend, so let’s see if I get ill again next week! That seems to be the pattern.

On Saturday we filmed the final moments of Digi Level 2 episode 6. Part of the reason we needed to do this was because our original ending to the series has now become part of Drong’s Challenge, which is going out later in the year.

Thanks to the help of the excellent Ben Jackson, we also managed to get hold of a location that worked as the depths of the Bunker (as you’ll have seen from the photos). That meant we could do something a touch more ambitious – albeit as ramshackle as you’d want from us. Not least because I didn’t feel entirely well. I swear, half this series was shot while I was ill…!

It was a lot of fun to see Gannon on Saturday. He’d popped over for a coffee a couple of times this year, but it has been ages since we’ve filmed anything together. Also, with me not feeling on top form it helped to have him there to pick up the slack.

Inevitably, because this show never ends, we’ve still got some filming to do for the last two eps. There’ll be some more location stuff later this week, hopefully, for Ep 6, and then we need to film a new intro and a couple of sequences for Ep 5’s pirate special. Also, Dan Does has filmed some very funny stuff against green screen, and I just need to film my side.

I'm well aware that the amount of effort we're putting into this series is excessive. I'd say I was overcompensating because we're delivering so much later than I wanted to, but... I'd have probably done it like this regardless. Can't help myself.

Right! Better get on. Wally Bong won't animate himself...
