EARLY ACCESS: GRANNY'S GARDEN

I was subjected to this in primary school. We were tiny at the time so boring pedant mode observation is that most of the education must have been learning to type things like "yes", "bee", and "Budleigh Salterton Council Chambers" into the computer. That said, I think by the point we got regular computer time I'd been put on the list of Children Who Must Be Mentally Engaged Lest They Become Disruptive as most of my memories of BBCs in school are programming Logo rather than playing games. There was an ace edutainment game in my last year of middle school when they got a brand new RM 486; you were hunting down crystals in the Amazon rainforest and had to write Logo programs using a built-in interpreter to replicate the designs in order to progress. Admittedly, I only got past the simple bits where you had to do squares and pentagons, then it gave me something which looked like the output of an afternoon on a Spirograph at which point I gave up and went off to do something simple and fulfilling like melt crayons on the radiator pipes.

That's such a cool game. I remember we had a BBC Micro at primary school in the early 80's, but I can't remember what games we played. I remember an adventure type game navigating through paths and mountains, and it would halve to be educational, so it's possible, we could have played a game like this. 😍
