MONDAY UPDATE

Morning, y’all. Happy happy Monday.

So, this week is primarily a ‘Digi’ week for me – which means, among other things, getting properly stuck into the next ep of Digi Level 2.

The final three episodes are going to be tricky, because they all require additional filming. Some of it we’ll be doing on greenscreen, but we’ve also got some location filming to complete.

We’ve hopefully lined up a rather exciting location for the final episode – fingers crossed – that’s been used in proper Hollywood movies (thank you to Ben in advance for sorting that out).

We never got around last week to filming anything for the main channel. In short, I built up a backlog of day job work after spending all of January and the first half of Feb on Digi Level 2, and I’ve spent the last couple of weeks having to write like a madman to catch up/earn money before the mortgage comes out.

Consequence: I got it done, but knacked myself out, which was compounded by the 24-7 work on the first three episodes. Which had already knackered me out.

I am this: ready for the knacker's yard. Knackers!

LEVEL 2

I’ve still managed to get some Digi Level 2 stuff done in that time. I wrote some lyrics for the song that Jerden Cooke is working on for the next episode, I’ve done a new animation, written some spoof ad scripts, and Sanja’s now finished the assembly edit of all the episodes.

She’s moved onto putting together the bonus stuff for backers, and some of the deleted segments.

So, I can’t promise we’ll have a regular Digi this week, but rest assured we’re aching to go out and about again. We’ve got so many topics we want to make videos about. Amusingly, the most successful vid we've done on the main channel - in terms of views - was the Sellafield one, but that seems to be primarily from angry 'radiation guys', who didn't appreciate the cut of our "jib".

Anyhow, the little Let’s Play things I’ve been doing with Sanja have been going down well. It’s scratching our BYAMPOD itch, and it seems to be introducing mine and Sanja’s dynamic to new people. If it can get some new eyes on the main Digi channel, that’s a positive. Indeed, since NOT uploading anything our subscribers have soared. I guess the secret to our success is to do as little as possible…! But also, I think it’s a knock-on effect of Digi Level 2. A rising tide lifts all ships, and all that.

Honestly, I’ve really been taken aback by the response to DL2. We’ve had very little in the way of negativity. A few comments here and there, but nothing particularly bothersome. Overall it has really made me feel much more positive towards covering gaming again. It helps that I’m proud of the end product. So. Yeah. I’m quite surprised by that too.

COMING UP

We may do a Biffo’s Brain on Thursday, but I’ll confirm in the next couple of days. It’s dependent on whether we go out and film or not. If we don’t do one this week, it’ll be next week for definite. We might also do another Writer’s Club Zoom in March, as the first one went well.

We’re continuing to talk about what we do after Digi Level 2 is completely done and dusted. Obviously, we will have Drong’s Challenge later in the year, and will be giving the main channel some proper attention for a while, but we still want to do another ‘big’ project.

I’ve about three or four completely different things as potentials, and it’s just a question of which one I want to do spend a year or two of my life on, and consider which ones I think people will want to see/be prepared to help us make.

But anyway. That’s a way off yet. We've got plenty of time to decide.

Right. Off to the coalface. Wish me luck. Talk to you later in the week.

Absolutely loving the little lets play things with you guys, I'd definitely be interested in seeing more! Not just as a 'tide you over till the next video' but I genuinely enjoyed them 😅

BeasBotBonanza

I was thinking of Snowmobile Dundee while I watched that bit. In the desert, too!

Unrelated to post, but the latest episode of The Grand Tour (Mauritania) is an excellent demonstration of the dangers of rogue snowmobiles.
