MONDAY, MONDAY...

Morning, Patrons! Happy Monday. So… I got a bit burnt out on Ep 3 of Digi Level 2. Which is an understatement. I was baaaaaadly brain-mashed towards the end of last week.

Plus, we’ve really, really missed doing our regular Digi videos, and we’re getting a touch of cabin fever, so one of our out-and-about vids will be the next thing you get from us. We also owe you a Q&A, so we’ll aim to get that shot too. The regular vids are relatively easy to edit compared to Digi Level 2, and – honestly – I kind of miss Sanja being on camera, and messing about with her.

It’s not a break from doing nothing, obviously! We just need a bit of a change of energy. And as the final three episodes require a degree of new filming, we’ve got to plan that first.

Sunday seems to be working for us, so we’re going to switch from Thursdays to Sundays as our upload day from now on.

Weirdly, the main channel has been doing really well in the absence of new stuff. Dunno if it’s the Digi Level 2 effect, but it has been nice to see.

Lastly, as fully predicted… dipping our toe back into the retrogaming waters has seen the expected uptick in dickish comments. I don’t mind when we get legitimate criticism, or it’s just someone saying we’re shit, but when it’s just being personal or nasty about a guest, I tend to hide them from the channel. 99.5% of all the feedback we’ve had is positive, though it has still been a bit of a game of whack-a-mole.

The first legit main channel vid this year will hopefully be a light-ish one. There are a couple of heavier subjects I want to tackle this year, but it doesn’t feel quite right yet. I’m quite excited about this one, as it has all the elements that we love, and that seem to do well for us.

I’m hoping we might use the pause to also get some Writer’s Club and BYAMPOD recorded, but we’ll see. BYAMPOD requires research, and I just don’t have a lot of spare brain space at the minute.

Part of all this comes from a post I wrote for the upper tiers last week. I was talking about enjoying feeling like an outsider, while also kind of wanting to be on the inside. A lot of you made some brilliant points in the comments, and it really helped me make sense of what Digi means to not only Sanja and I, but many of you in 2024; that sense of community, and belonging to something. I think the vids where it’s Sanja and I do a better job of appealing to that than Digi Level 2, and we don’t want it to feel like we’re leaving them behind. They’re still our bread and butter.

It has also got us thinking about ways in which we can cement this feeling of a community. No announcements to make yet, but we are talking about potential ideas.
