Black is King is the visual album, I believe, for the soundtrack to the first remake of Disney's The Lion King in live action. I had a lot of questions in this video, so please inform me if y'all know any answers. I can confidently say this project was my favorite Beyoncé media since Lemonade, hands DOWN! I had a wonderful time watching, and I hope y'all do too! I'll see ya in the next one, peace!

The cinematography, the color grading, the hair and outfits, the choreo, the little poetry narratives, the storytelling - Black is King is genuinely mindblowing no matter how often you watch it. It also made sense for the spoken parts of the movie to be here in Black is King because they are also in the album as stand-alone tracks between the songs. Also, "Spirit", the last song in this project, plays during the credits of The Lion King movie. 🦁

I also read then that the song “Otherside” is interpreted as Beyoncé's personal experience with miscarriage and reflecting the pain of loss and the hope for a reunion in the afterlife. Rewatching it after having that in mind made it so emotional.
