PATREON EXCLUSIVE: CAR-CHAT AUGUST 18 2023!

Hello, you lot. Here's a bonus video we recorded in the car on the way back from this week's filming. It's a bit of a ramble, but also a request for some feedback. Watch the video for details.

Also! After watching this week's video back, we've decided to invest in some proper wireless lapel mics. We were given some a while back, but they were a bit fiddly when it came to recording on an iPhone, so we've gone with some of the top-end DJI ones. Hopefully it'll make a big difference to our sound quality. Especially when filming right next to a busy motorway/A-road...

The next purchase we want to make - when we can afford it - is a vlogging camera, specifically a Sony ZV1. We've got some ambitious videos planned, and we want to make sure they look and sound as good as possible. It's overdue that we updated our kit.

The Canons we've been using until now are getting on a bit, and they're kind of rubbish for a lot of our requirements. For starters, you can only do 30 minutes filming at a time. Plus, they're quite bulky. Also, they're a nightmare to use as webcams, and we want to do a lot more streaming.

Oh, and yeah. I got my replacement laptop back, after struggling with Sanja's one for the past 10 days. Had a bit of a moment when it switched off and wouldn't power back on, five minutes after getting it back, but a quick trip to Apple sorted it.

My other one - my MacBook Pro - is in the menders as we speak. Anyhow, it means I can now get back to editing Digi Level 2.

In other news! I've started posting stuff to Memory Assistant again. You can find it on FB and Instagram:

Tickets to Cheapitiser - the joint show we're doing with Cheapshow on November 4th - are still available here for a mere Β£12:

Also, at some point over the next week or two, we should have the leftover merch from Digi Live up for sale, for those of you who weren't able to be there.

That's it! Should be a Biffo's Brain coming up the week after next. Alas, we're in Oxford for a couple of days next week, but we'll get a date for you soon.

Feedback: Logistics wise, two nights was far better for me travelling, and next time I would make more effort to do things around the area to make a full weekend of it for myself. Also I think expanding on Chunky Fringe would be cool, I have a few ideas for tables/stalls and stuff, maybe turn it into a mini-Digi-con?? (Not to take over Chunky Fringe, but like separate to it in the same venue). For example, alongside Chunky Fringe there could be stalls and/or presentations about retro games and retro toys or something? (Im absolutely down to do a presentation about the history of Transformers toys πŸ˜…) Also if there was anyone who makes stuff they could maybe sell their wares? πŸ€” of course that all depends on if the venue allow that sort of thing! Might give folks more reason to come for more than just a Saturday night show for example if there is more to do in the afternoon, and in turn may boost Friday sales if folks are then thinking about having to stay over anyway I feel like doing two nights plus a bit in the afternoon gave a more chill vibe to the weekend, like rather than the pressure of hanging out with everyone on Friday after the show, it was nice to feel like it could be spread out a bit if that makes sense? (Although I know the Irish Menaces took over all 3 times we met you πŸ˜…) There may also then be more space/time for photos or patreon stuff if you still wanted to organise something like that? (Again im totally down to help out doing whatever!) That said, if it ends up being only one night in future, i completely understand! And i would still make every effort to go ❀️ Travelling shows sound like great fun too! How would you decide where to go? Is there a way to see which viewers live where etc or do you already have a decent idea on where there are pockets of Digi fans? πŸ€”

Looking forward to watching this (the main video was fun... DGBDO is a great series, but shame that the sheep were rather... sheepish)! And a good move re: the equipment upgrade! The visuals always seemed perfectly fine, but if a new solution will make live streaming easier, then awesome! Plus, of course it will be nice for you to not have to keep checking on the time that has elapsed while filming (reminds me of when calling my mum and ensuring each call is within an hour! :D)!
