EXCLUSIVE BYAMPOD BONUS EP: THE 2003 MARILLION WEEKEND...!

As promised, here's a bonus BYAMPOD! We're looking at some of the early Marillion Weekend setlists.

The rest of you... there's a manic new Digi on the way, a load of outtakes for the upper tiers, hopefully something for Writer's Club, and Biffo's Brain gang will get a new live chat on Thursday night. That's it bye!

EDIT: BIFFO'S BRAIN live chat changed to tomorrow (Wednesday).

EXCLUSIVE BYAMPOD BONUS EP: THE 2003 MARILLION WEEKEND...!

I agree, it was a real disappointment after the performance of Fugazi in Swap The Band. Sunday was brilliant IMO, the album of the Sunday gig (Mirrors) is still one of my favourite live albums.

I love Marillion, but that Party Night set was grim.

Bit of a tip for the weekend. Look out for the lighting at the end if The Invisible Man. It's a touch of genius. Have a fantastic time.

Precisely why they should do it again! Also... I'm running out of time this week, but would still like to get you on BYAMPOD. I'll drop you a line once I'm back from Leicester, if you're up for it.

When people voted they knew it was for a setlist so Popular Music was really songs fans wanted to hear played, not people's favourite songs, hence the inclusion of seldom played ones

TBH those first marillion weekends at the P.O.W. camps in south of England kinda blur into one for me. We had our own chalet for one of them (ooh - the luxury!), then got shacked up with some dodgy scousers for another, who (apparently) ended up getting kicked off the site when they got completely sh!tfaced and couldnt understand why their key to the chalet wouldnt work so kicked in the door....turned out it wasnt their/our chalet at all, meaning some poor family got a rather rude awakening at an unsociable hour. Anyway, i digress. Those original Marbles tracks outings rocked - Neverland was even played twice that weekend as i recall. I think the "Popular Music" night was probably my highlight marillion gig ever. If h ever had a problem with the fact that the fish era stuff filled a lot of the "top 10", then he certainly hid it well that night. The version of script, to my ears was a complete triumph. Enjoy Leicester. I spent 3 years of my life at Leicester uni - did they even play there once? Then as soon as i emigrate to the other side of the world, they decide it would be a good place to set up for the conventions. D'oh!

Dry Land IS a good song! I slightly prefer the How We Live persion, but it's a banger. Also dude, a set with Separated Out and An Accidental Man is great! The rest of it might not be ideal, but those two are bangers!

Aw that brings back memories 2002 and 2003, they were some wild weekends. Can't wait for this weekend. 😍😎🍺
