EARLY ACCESS: LONG-AWAITED Q&A!

To kick off the new year on the Digi channel... we're starting in a deliberately low-key way, with our delayed answers to your recent questions. There were a lot, and even though this is a long video... we'll be sharing the ones that didn't make it with the Top Tier later this week.

There's a real mixed batch of questions, including one which leads to a big state-of-the-channel address, and another in which we reveal the secret to our relationship...

Just to remind you all... if you want to be a part of next week's Tony Harris special, please email your videos to digitiser2000@gmail.com by Friday. We've had a few already, and they're great; don't worry - we won't embarrass anyone.

EARLY ACCESS: LONG-AWAITED Q&A!

Once things settle down, we shall make that happen.

Yeah, I think it wasn't so much that people were wanting the Digi The Show lot back... more that it *felt* like, at the same time, nobody wanted me around. Which I totally get, because they all arrived with their established audiences, whereas mine was - let's face it - from almost 30 years ago! Something I had to come to terms with is that if I wanted people to credit me for what went on the Digi channel, I needed to become the literal face of the channel. Which I really struggled with (hence those early eps without me).

I had no idea how much it was getting to you how much people were shouting about getting Digi the Show cast members on. Personally, I love the current format. And I like Gannon being on because I love the way you two play off each other. BUT... I love you and Sanja too. It's your channel. If there's an episode you're not in for some reason it feels wrong (I seem to remember Gannon and Larry did some of the early minis). You do seem to be opening up in these Q&A videos. And I think it's a good thing too.

Interesting what you say about watching games and the new GamesMaster. I love watching people play games. I call it "roommate TV", because for me it reminds me of those situations in shared houses where you're so used to each other than one of you is playing a game while the other attempts to assemble every item of cutlery in the house into a rudimentary structure, and it's just kind of *nice* that the other person is casually wittering on about the thing they're doing without really caring if you're paying attention or not. I also loved the new GamesMaster but found it weirdly hard to concentrate on any of the gaming segments. I think because they were so TV-ised; everything was condensed into 3-minute segments where the mechanics can be explained in a few seconds and there's constant action/conflict, but none of the weird stuff like a speedrun glitch that shaves 4 seconds off the game but takes 2 hours to explain the history and theory of. Absolutely necessary and understandable for TV with a broad audience, but it did mean I zoned out for all of the gameplay segments.

That was ruddy lovely 😁

Top of the willy to ya! Believe me, I was certainly familiar with the word ‘bellend’ when I was growing up. ;) I don’t consider it swearing either though - maybe that’s just because it’s a newer term? And I may yet regret saying this, but I’d be absolutely delighted to be on The Golden Bean! When things calm down on the Omicron front I’ll gladly venture up to Beanusland.

I may or may not have shed a tear.
