It just wasn't how it used to be and when you fall out of love with people you stop prioritizing them. No hard feelings towards Joe but I'm sure it was difficult for both of them. She needed him and their relationship ran its course.

The song sounds like the feelings you feel at the end when things are falling apart. I don’t think Taylor would have been writing all the amazing things about this beautiful, pure, healing, golden relationship she has been for years if it was about someone who wasn’t picking her, who didn’t love her well enough or didn’t care that much. I mean.. lover? I think they probably just drifted apart, things changed, time apart and it was bad at the end. I mean relationships get bad at the end that’s WHY they end, that doesn’t rewrite the whole relationship. I doubt she’d be six years deep at her big age if it had been bad the whole time.

2023-05-28 16:28:07 +0000 UTCthe ice spice feature has grown on me especially since i’ve seen the music video (which you definitely need to react to asap) lmao it’s kinda like ME! you just have to lean into the silly fun of it, i do wish jack or whoever remixed it hadnt slowed down ice’s verse like it feels like the beat is slowed down for that part then picks back up but it sounds like she wrote the verse to be on the original production idk i dont have super trained ears lol i could be wrong
