MONDAY UPDATE!

Happy Monday, top-tier gang.

You’ve already seen this week’s Digi video, so I thought I’d fill you in on what I’m up to this week.

Today, Sanja and I are recording the next ep, possibly two, of our podcast. I’ve been looking forward to these ones, as we’re tackling Marillion’s Misplaced Childhood, which if you don’t know was their biggest album, and the one that spawned Kayleigh. Given that we’re a very, very niche show, and only get a few hundred listeners per ep, the amount of work we’re putting into every episode is ridiculous. Sanja, especially, has really taken the task seriously, writing pages and pages of notes… The toughest thing we’re finding is not talking about each album outside of the podcast, but… we’re both loving doing it. And what’s really nice, for me, is that there’s a story evolving over time.

Tomorrow or Wednesday, most likely, we’ll record an exclusive Patreon video for you lot, and then expect a few weeks of me and Sanja on screen, as I’m enjoying mixing it up between her and Gannon. This week I think we’re doing a video about sandwiches, possibly one to do with crisps, and then it depends which bit of tat shows up first. I’ve got videos planned on Silly Putty, Silly String and Rubik’s Cube, plus the possibility of ones about Mood Rings and Pet Rock. I also want to do one on the TV show Monkey. And we might also go back to our storytime format, so I can finally tackle the Chernobyl tale.

And then in amid all that, we’ll be planning the Halloween live special, which we’ll be sharing with Cheapshow. We’ve talked about it kind of casually before, but when we filmed Cheapshow 200 last week, the three of us had such a laugh, and the tech worked well enough, that we committed to it there and then. Exactly how it’ll work remains to be seen – though we’ve already got a rough structure - but I’m mostly just curious to see Sanja and Eli together, as that’s a weird combination that we’ve never done before. Expect apple bobbing, fancy dress, special appearances, and music.

It’s also going to be interesting to see how Cheapshow’s somewhat more graphically adult tone butts up against Digi’s slightly more schoolyard innuendo. I’m confident we’ll find a happy medium.

We’re also hoping to get Eli back on Digi for a few eps soon too. I’m cautious, and will be spreading out his appearances, because Eli, as we know, is everyone’s favourite, no matter what he’s in – and for good reason – but it has taken me most of this year to kind of reclaim the channel back as mine, and for it not to be seen as an extension of Barshens or Cheapshow. But… y’know… he makes me laugh, and he’s subtly different when he’s on Digi. It seems to bring out a different side to him. Oh! And I’m also hoping we can get Sooz involved over Skype in the next few weeks.

I think that’s where we’re at with everything. No doubt I’ll have another blog for you later this week. And if I find time, I’ll be sorting out the Patreon tiers.

More stories! I've really enjoyed all the previous ones. Think I'm looking forward to those more than anything. Also Sooz is super talented so that will definitely be interesting watch.
