Christmassssssss Tidings

Huge thanks for everyone sticking with Patreon through the recent Patreongate nonsense - thankfully, the outcry was such, as you might've seen, that Patreon went back on the decision and the way it charges supporters won't be changing. Which is nice. I only lost a couple of backers during the hoo-hah, but I've also picked up a couple too.
As you might be aware, it's Digi's 25th anniversary on January 1st 2018. I'm planning to do a week's worth of Digitiser2000 in classic teletext-o-vision. This does mean there'll be a letters page every day - so if you fancy writing in, and getting published on classic Digitiser pages, it'd be a massive help if you started writing now to digitiser2000@gmail.com (please mark the letters "Digi Anniversary" so that I don't chuck them into this week's Friday Letters Page by mistake).
It'd be splendid if the letters were retro gaming or Digi-related, in line with the theme of the anniversary (it's not like we're not going to pretend it's 1993 or anything). Of course, keep them as brief as you can; we don't have many words to play with on a teletext page.
Anyhow, just wanted to say thank you - from both me and Sanya - for supporting Digi this year. We feel very blessed to have this level of backing. Given that I erroneously spent a small fortune on Mr Biffo's Found Footage (which I still haven't finished paying for entirely) - and I was very, very late getting paid for a couple of jobs - I can't stress how much the monthly Patreon income has helped us get through it. Well, we're still getting through it to be honest, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Suffice to say, lesson learned. I don't regret spending any of it on Found Footage, but I'll certainly be having a much more cautious 2018!
As well as the Friday Letters Page, there's probably just one more thing to come on Digitiser2000 this year - the annual pant-oh - and when we're back... it's anniversary time! Hopefully a bunch of you will be able to make the shindig we're intending to hold later in the year.

Think I got a couple of letters posted, but never thought much about the space limitation. Perhaps Biffo edited them a bit. I have a screenshot of a letter I posted years ago, but I think it might have been during the GameCentral years unfortunately.
2017-12-20 22:45:05 +0000 UTCI remember, from back in the day, working out exactly how many characters I had to play with for a teletext letter, how many columns (39 isn't it) and a few rows, leaving room for my name and a reply, and composing my letter to fit. A bit like carefully composing a tweet to fit! Good times.
