NEW BLOG: 2018 and BEYOND

Hello, Patrons!
Well, I am doing this: another blog for ye, with an update on all things happening in the Biffo-verse.
Some of you might’ve seen hints at this, but I’m tentatively planning on directing something else early in the new year. It was the idea of Chris Bullock, our sound recordist on The Trojan Arse Protocol. She also works on the Barshens series on YouTube, but is a bit of a filmmaker in her own right.
She wrote a script which she felt would fit into the Xenoxxxverse, and asked for my blessing. In return, I offered to direct it for her, and will be giving a few pointers on the script.
I admit that I’ve wavered about doing it, as everyone seems pretty sick of Mr Biffo’s Found Footage, but Chris’s enthusiasm for that world has spurred me on. Plus, I've discovered that I love directing. Still, it won’t be an official part of Found Footage – it’s not a continuation or sequel. More a little, contained, side-story. It’s really just something we’ll be doing for fun, which certainly takes the pressure off.
Anyway, until I decide whether to do another big video project this year – and at this stage it isn’t guaranteed – I thought you’d be interested to know that it’s this sort of thing that, by supporting me on Patreon, you’ll be helping to pay for.
I’ve got a whole bunch of ideas swirling in my head. Truth is, I’m torn at the minute between enjoying not having a massive Found Footage-style project on the go (it literally did consume my entire life for the past year) and missing having something like that. Though it obviously wasn’t for everyone, the free-wheeling nonsense, and ambition, is something I continue to crave.
I’ve thought about doing an audio-only series, had a couple of tentative discussions about doing a podcast, but I think I enjoy the visual side of things too much. Exhausting and time-consuming as it was, I’ve come to love editing; for me, that was where Found Footage really came to life. I’ve thought about doing a book; there are a ton of potential things I could do, but none of them really get me excited. It would be a solitary thing, sat in front of my laptop, and I enjoyed that Found Footage got me out of the house.
So… in short… the jury is out, but I am leaning towards another video project next year. Right now, I just don’t know what it is, but the freedom I get from crowd-funding means that it will be, as Found Footage was, exactly what I want to do. Otherwise… what’s the point?
