Hi all. Just a reminder, as we come to the end of our first month, that the initial batch of Patreon payments are due to be taken in the next week. Apparently they are taken on the 1st of each month, but can take up to 72 hours to process. Unfortunately, we lost one of our $25 patrons today - which is absolutely fine, and I totally understand if people are ever worried about money and stuff (who isn't?!). But it does slightly rankle, as the pledge had been from a podcast, rather than an individual - and they've basically had two weeks of free pluggage on the Special Thanks page. Which rather seems to go against the spirit of the thing. Never mind! In other news, we're still fannying around with t-shirts, and trying to find a company whose product we like, which won't break the bank. We're having to pay for samples up front - which is costly - but it's possible we're going to take pre-orders for t-shirts, as we'll then have a more precise idea of how many of each size to order. Lastly... I met up with Tim "Mr Hairs" Moore last night, who's about to head off on another epic journey for his next travel book. The plan is that we're going to try to do some sort of special Digi retrospective podcast when he returns in early summer. You'll hopefully be getting some proper podcast fun before then, though. Huhrm... Maybe that's why they deleted their pledge (competition)...? Paul

Cheers, Z...!

Thanks for all the updates, Paul. Site's great and well worth the few 'dollars' (no idea)

Yeah, I kind of agree about the fee up front, but it's fine really. I totally get if people don't think they can afford it, and of course nobody is obliged to commit to anything (plus, as Simon says... this is a marathon - not a sprint). I just wish I'd perhaps had a polite email explaining - I'd have completely understood. As it stands it just feels a touch cheeky, like they took the plug and ran. They also seemingly un-followed me on Twitter! Maybe they just hate Digi now! Who knows?

Aren't people wonderful. :/ Agree with Bruce. Get the money off them in the first place then they can't back out.

Some you win, some you lose. This is only the start. It's just brilliant having a new splurge of hot Digitiser sauce to gargle every time I check back, please keep up the excellent work.

They should really take some kind of initial payment when you first 'patreon' something, just to stop people getting whatever benefits are there to be had then dropping out before the payment is due...
