NMK was developer of arcade games in the 1990's. They made some very interesting shooting games like Black Heart (1991) and Hacha Mecha Fighter (1991) and Zed Blade/Operation Ragnarok (1994) for Neo Geo.. .

Aquanix (アクアニクス) was a NMK arcade game that was shown to guests in arcade location testing which was very normal in those times. It will help the developer get some feedbacks from guests about the game and then they can make some changes before final release.
People in Japan who saw and play the game in the location test said Aquanix was very similar to Puyo Puyo style puzzle game but used the ocean theme with fish and bubbles that came up from the bottom of the screen. Actually the game was very popular with guests and they all report wanting to play it again soon.
Manabu Namiki said he had made the soundtrack for the game. Namiki-San was famous shooting game music artist who did many CAVE game soundtrack and also Battle Garrega. He said it was big shame the game disappeared forever!
The game was never see again after the location testing. NMK did not alive long as a company after this time and that maybe was the problem. It is possible some one has this game ROM but it has not been released on internet at all yet.
All that is left is old black and white title screen picture that appear only in fan made paper about the location test or the arcade owner's flyer to tell people about this game testing.
What a mystery!! 🫡
