First and foremost: v0.06.0 will be releasing in August. The specific date will be communicated as soon as I feel like there's a specific target I can hit.
I feel confident in saying it's coming this upcoming month, at this point. For reference, I announced v0.04's release date four days before it released. I'd expect a similar span here.
Some rapid-fire thoughts:
- You'll notice the bright green cells. That was the original amount of content I thought v0.06 would have (500 images, about 15,000 words). The final amount of content is essentially double that (950 images, 30,000 words). You can see the update log above for all the changes.
- I've said this before, but after its release I'll discuss why this doubled, why I didn't release it in halves, and how future updates will be delivered in smaller, more frequent chunks. I can't discuss it yet because of story spoilers!
- So what's left? About 65 more images to create, final color grading, implementing music/SFX (most has been identified and custom music has already been composed, but need to code it in), wrapping up the various systems (puzzles and UI), a couple animations (2 or 3, depending on time), and final polishing/testing. There's nothing really left that is an unknown in terms of the level of effort needed to complete it. Maybe the music/SFX, but that should only take a few days to do, fingers crossed.
- I'll be making a few changes to the tiers on Patreon, in order to make sure I deliver bonus content on a regular schedule. Stay tuned for that!
- I'll be posting soon with the preliminary patron list that will be included in the game's main menu. As with the last update's list, you are free to opt out or change your displayed name. Anyone with an identifiable name will be shortened to be unidentifiable. For example, "Isaac Asimov" would be shortened to "Isaac A".
