Culture | Japanese Tea Ceremony

Do you know in all of Asia tea is an important way for people to meet? In China and Korea it is the same idea and is many hundred years old. The Japanese tea ceremony is very conducted and careful. The movement must be exact and right but it is calm and peaceful. There are four feelings to create during a tea ceremony: Harmony, tranquility, respect, pureness feeling.

When it is finished you should feel very relaxed inside!

I’m watching a tv series Shogun (an adaptation of a novel)… it takes place in Japan in 1600. There is a scene where the British sailor character is taken to a courtesan. His interpreter accompanied him and the courtesan performs this elaborate pouring of tea. His interpreter tells him that he should compliment her on her skills in that area as that is a big deal for them. I found all of that interesting (well, the entire show is excellent).
