Your Official Glopossum Summer Update

Hello patrons, and happy nearly-summer! With The Common Grounds entering some of its most pivotal moments, some exciting events cresting over the horizon, and my current artistic ideas feeling as lofty and ambitious as ever (always happens when the weather warms up!), I figured it'd be a good time for a little news update, and a preview of what you can expect to see here over the next few months.

First of all, thank you all so much for your support on the first year of The Common Grounds! It really has felt like a bit of a risk to pivot back to an M/M story after spending nearly 3 years with just the gals, so it's been a huge comfort knowing it's been as fun of a ride for y'all as it's been for me! And as excited as I am to be full speed ahead with the coming scenes, pages will be a lil slower to release this month (aiming for 2 or 3!), due to...

Anthrocon!! Very happy to have once again been accepted into Anthrocon's mature dealer's area, this time at table Y-01! The map and a full list of the other dealers can be seen on their website here. I'll have my usual assortment of goods & comics, but will also be aiming to whip up some new stickers, prints, and HOPEFULLY my first ever risograph print, assuming I can sneak in some studio time at my local workshop. I'll also have copies of UNION vol. 3 available for sale, with all sales going toward UNION's selected charity Black & Pink! However, in order to get all that done in time, I have to start up work... right now!! For the next week or so I'll be focusing hard on finishing up some print-worthy work, designing stickers, and hopefully getting all my orders placed for both in time for the con! Once those are all hammered out, it's smooth sailing on the comic... sort of!

I'll also be taking a much-needed break post-Anthrocon, spending the week after AC visiting NYC for the first time with my partner! I should be back in town and rested up enough to be back to work by July 16th, and then it's full steam ahead on the comic... or is it?

Just around the corner is Eurofurence, which I'll be leaving for at the very end of August! EF has been kind enough to issue me a dealers table for the third year in a row, and who am I to turn down what has historically been a wonderful time? More details to come on that as it gets closer, particularly with new stuff I'd like to whip up in time for the con (I desperately need/want to make a new shirt...)!

And that takes us through to the end of summer, wherein I'll probably have another little roadmap for y'all to stay updated on! Until then, thank you all for the love and support on my work here! Really can't wait for y'all to see what happens next with Casper and Junip, and to say hi at a convention hopefully near you... :)

-Willow!

(Also, something something taking a photo of Crossing That Bridge at either The Strand Bookstore, Midtown Comics, and/or Forbidden Planet is a good nerdy joke~! Bonus points for The Strand and Forbidden Planet being so darn close to one another. Also, they all rock, so~)

NYC in July is a lovely time of the year, especially with everyone out-and-about! If you have the time, definitely take a walk along the High Line just to sight-see and people-watch. If you can make it out to Flushing's Chinatown, there are...dozens, upon dozens of brilliant places to eat. Also, bring a BIG water bottle or two. If it's especially humid it'll be a bit thick and unbearable out, and you'll need to hydrate more often. Many storefronts all throughout the 5 boroughs will likely be blasting their A/C, and there's no shame for locals or visitors alike to duck into stores just to "browse" (read: "oh, god, save me, cold air, please!!")

I have to say that I am proud of you going this far. I hope the AC and EuroFurrence will go smoothly alongside your stay in Big Apple. Hoping to buy some physical prints of your books this year on your website. In the meantime, keep at it. You are doing great.
