So... What's Next?

Hello!! Now that A Show of the Ropes is all nice and wrapped up, I wanted to share with y'all my plans for this Patreon over the next few months! It feels appropriate to set some long term goals and expectations with the completion of such a long term project, and I hope y'all are as excited as I am for what's in store. :3

With the comic coming to an end, my very first priority is getting it physically published a'la Crossing That Bridge! As much as I wish it were, this process isn't as simple as just sending off the pages to my printer. I need to work on designing the front and back covers (currently in progress!), redraw certain frames throughout the comic that feel off-model or have just generally bugged me, format the entire thing for print, and then send it to my printers for proofing, in that order. My goal is to have the proof in progress by the end of this month, and ideally have the first run of comics available by the end of September. Unfortunately, it's relatively unlikely that the first proof will be perfect, and the process of making changes and re-ordering proofs could push things back. I'm aiming for an end-of-October deadline at the very latest.

In the meantime, as I piece things together for the comic, I will also be preparing for my very first overseas furry convention! For those who don't already know, I managed to snag a table at Eurofurence this year, and am very excited and nervous at the prospect of working a con in another country! Traveling internationally already comes with its own laundry list of rules & regulations to follow, so you can imagine what preparing for a trade show might be like... it's wildly complex! I might be in over my head a teeny tiny bit! I will be taking time over the next couple weeks to make sure I have my many many ducks in a row for this con, so drawing (outside of working on fixing up the comic) might be a little slow. I will be gone from September 2nd-11th, with a few day's buffer on each end to prepare/unwind afterwards. :)

Ideally in this timeline, the comic proof will be at my doorstep when I return from Germany, and I'll be ready to make any changes I deem necessary so y'all get as high quality of a print as possible. In the meantime, I have plans to whip up a Beruca dakimakura that'll hopefully be available the end of October, as well as a brand new mini-comic! It'll clock in at 10-12 pages and serve as a sort of epilogue for A Show of the Ropes, as well as flesh out one of my favorite minor characters a bit more. Hope y'all are as excited for it as I am to make & share it ♥

And after all this, at the end of October, I'll be in the dealers den at BLFC in Reno! My goal is for this con to be the big debut for A Show of the Ropes as well as the Beruca daki, and to also gamble all of my con earnings on the craps table and make a cool million or two. Hope to see y'all there. :)

In the meantime's meantime, I'll also be taking time to outline and write The Next Big Comic, which will actually be two comics at once, because I don't know when to quit. I've been toying with the idea of two shorter comics (30-40 pages each) that are updated parallel to each other, are narratively woven together, and even interact with each other, despite having opposite or contrasting vibes. One will be soft, gentle, cute, and the other will be raunchy, weird, and flamboyant, not unlike two characters of mine that you all are probably familiar with! Hoping to have that all kick off early next year, probably after FC!

And that should all keep me busy for the next 3 years or so. ;)

It's hard to convey in words how much it constantly means to me to be able to make things like this, and to feel myself growing as an artist and writer! Excited for what the next year holds, and I can't wait for y'all to hold this comic in your hands. ♥♥
