Robert Graysmith: Dave, he made a mistake! The birthday was the one time that he was weak, the one time he gave something away!
oh that's why, thx a lot for the heads up ^_^

he was afraid.. can't imagine how he felt thinking about making the choice.. there was a documentary about the difference between really crazy people and manipulators when they kill and they get caught.. 99% of the times.. crazy people will admit everything, they are the one calling the police in the first place. .and they will not hide anything from police. you can tell they accept the outcome whatever that will be.. they are called crazy, but in fact they are the most sane killers who accepts whatever punishment they will receive.. but manipulators are evil.. they will distort and change the narrative time and time again.. if they have the power to not get caught.. they will do what Zodiac Killer did.. stay away until they die.. the don't seek closure nor come to terms with God or their own conscience, but stay in the dark while going deeper and deeper..

You mentioned how this movie reminds you of Seven, probably because both were made by the same director, David Fincher. He's made some other really good movies, like Fight Club, Gone Girl and The Social Network. All skillfully made like the other ones you reacted to made by him and worth watching.

This is the Zodiac speaking.... I was waiting for this one. Thank you!
I think the reason why this movie is so memorable and stays in your head is because the case remains unsolved. We see all of that time pass, all of the people investigating, and even now, all these years later, everyone wants to know who the Zodiac was. We want the answer, but we can't be sure if it's the right one.

Yup Don, exactly. But? Its clever that back then especially, because of no DNA testing etc, they knew only circumstantial evidence (which was/is harder to prove, so leaves room for reasonable doubt) wouldn't be allowed to convict, or send you to death if caught. He/They were looking ahead all the time legally. IMO.

@ Mjoy.. Yeah, you're not alone.. I felt that same hopeless feeling as well.. but it's done on purpose so the viewer understands how the detectives felt while involved with this case.. including Graysmith..

From Hell is - its based off the only letter the police thought was genuine and ''Jack'' signed it ''From hell.'' I think you'll like it. Agree with what you said regarding Zodiac too. Its not complex, but the time span is against it. DNA testing has also come a long way since then, unfortunately for any evidence probably lost now. Son of Sam was ritualistic as well.

Lol great minds Don! Sub and unsub was touched upon as well - they could have even met in a forces bar. Here in the UK we have bars called ''the foreign legions'' where the army vets would drink. You'd have to have passes to get in there. My granddad would take us as kids to his on Sunday's if we were visiting him. PTSD was never discussed then, but they could have had places to go to to even speak in a group if they had MH issues like Zodiac claimed he did as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one leaning that way :) Its an interesting one.

this movie gave us a weird feeling of hopelessness... can't believe people like this existed/exist... the movie was spot on regarding the Zodiac Killer.. and like you said ''i don't think Zodiac will ever be solved legally'' that's bcuz it's so damn long ago.. not just that but too complex and yes, maybe more than one person was involved. unlike other criminals who did out of passion, hate, and jealousy.. this one here looks more like a demonic game.. a cult. and is more deadly bcuz nobody was safe... wish they solved it.. but i guess we will never truly know that.. From Hell sounds like a different kind of murder type of movie, we should watch that one, why not.

Oh man Shell.. was gonna post a similar comment but ya beat me to itπ
Yeah, I've always been of the same belief system that Allen & Poste knew each other and coordinated together.. it's hard to find exactly where and when Poste was based "I'm pretty sure I could find it if I had the time to dig" but I'm of the belief that Allen & Poste were based at the same camp during Allen's tenure before being discharged.. and we all know Navy & Air force are constantly housed together..

People last year claimed to have solved the case, but we've had so many claim it. I personally think there was more than one killer. Sam? The radio station caller? Reminds you of the Son of Sam killer who claimed he was in a cult. He was caught in 1977. We know thrill-kill murderers kill again, especially a narcissist like the Zodiac would imo. He was definitely a Narcissist who loved playing games with peoples life's, taunting the police and people, keeping on saying he'll kill again, children as well. I think he either stopped because he died or was put in prison/mental hospital. Ex Army/US military force could very well be a few killers, anything is possible. Son of Sam was caught in1977. We also have the Manson murderers - cult.1969. Gary Francis Poste, is now who a teams now claiming Zodiac was. I still lean towards Arthur Leigh Allen more. Of course he and Poste could both be involved IF its a cult. Poste was an Air Force vet. Poste was allegedly targeting mostly men, rather than women - Zodiac killed women/couples more than just men. He allegedly preferred killing women overkill wise however. And Rick Marshall - here's info on him as well https://www.zodiacciphers.com/rick-marshall.html Here's an in depth interesting documentary on the case if you're interested :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqj9WGJo52E&t=8s and the evidence regarding him to read https://thoughtcatalog.com/christine-stockton/2020/12/the-best-arguments-that-arthur-leigh-allen-was-the-zodiac-killer/ The cast in this movie is phenomenal - And huge! Mark Ruffalo's partner (Cop) was Goose in Top gun, Anthony Edwards :) I don't think Zodiac will ever be solved legally. They changed either the M.O to confuse, so no evidence will be 100%, or it was multiple killers. IMO of course. Great reaction guys, this is one of my most favorite films ever, I'm so glad you guys watched it! If you liked this? I'd highly recommend ''From Hell.'' its regarding the unsolved crimes of Jack the ripper and stars Johnny Depp. Its such a good movie. Its also got Ian Holm in it who played Bilbo in Lord of the rings. And Robbie Coltrane, Hagrid in Harry Potter :)
