ΤΗΙ ΚΑΛΛΙΣΤΗΙ — A Very Discordian Update

It's been a while since I've posted a progress update for mGBA or the Patreon. Some of you may have noticed that I never distributed a gold build for mGBA 0.6.3. Others may have noticed that there has been a long time since 0.6.3 came out and even 0.7 beta 1 is aged at this point. There are a few reasons for this.

First, the bad news. No, I haven't been working on a secret project (some of you may remember the lull that led up to medusa—there's nothing like that this year). There's no secret branch that will explain the downtime. In actuality, what happened is that the project has a very low bus factor and I (endrift) have been too busy dealing with Real Life™ to have the time or energy to work on mGBA with any regularity.

Now the good news: circumstances are finally starting to resolve so progress should resume sometime before the end of the month. 0.7.0 is basically ready to ship but I haven't had a chance to write up a release article or the final testing. I'm hoping to get it out very soon.

For the Patreon half of this update, I realized that the Gold builds are technically a GPL violation (as you don't have the ability to build it yourself, and the builds are GPL-licensed). As a result, Gold builds are discontinued, and all patrons will receive a copy of the assets used for Gold builds (they overwrite the existing contents of the "res" directory when building; that's all that's needed).

In the place of that tier there is now a Discord tier. I've been in the process of creating a Discord for mGBA. It's not ready for public access yet (I need more moderators) but $5/month or higher patrons will automatically receive an invite to the Discord and a special role right now. When the Discord becomes public, patrons will retain their role.

Hopefully in the coming months progress will pick back up and I'll have more exciting things to post again.
