2022-10-21 17:04:35 +0000 UTCTywin Lannister melted Ned's Stark big Valyrian sword "Ice" after Ned's death into 2 smaller swords "Oathkeeper" for Jaime, and "Widow's Wail" for Joffrey. Jamie gave Brienne his sword to help keep her oath to protect Sansa Stark, and...well...as you know Queen Margyren becomes a widow after Joffrey's untimely demise.

2022-06-09 08:06:23 +0000 UTCThe sword was given to Jon by the old Nightβs Watch Commander. It is made out of Valyrian steel and there are only a few left in the world. They are usually inherited and passed down from generation to generation. Arya βs Needle is also one. I think any sword that has a name is probably made of Valyrian steel. I think Jaime has one, too.
