Added 2025-08-22 13:01:57 +0000 UTCSo apparently, the default text speed when you start playing the game is maximum. That means that the text instantly draws on screen with each line of dialogue. Problem is, the character gibberish system that almost all the voice acting is tied into as well as the audience laughter at the end of jokes gets ruined or not played at all when the speed is that high.
I fixed it so the default is now right at the sweet spot but that means everybody who's been testing the game to this point has probably not been getting the optimal experience! Which also means that my concerns that the gibberish system is annoying are still on the table because I don't think anybody actually tested it with that stuff working. I just assumed that they were hearing it when all of you were probably hearing the silence? I don't know! I could really use feedback on this!
Please try adjusting your text speed accordingly, and playing the game. And hopefully it's an enjoyable experience because if it's not, it is way too late to change that now. Whoops.
The game isn't going to restrict you from setting it faster or slower, but it will warn you that some of the comedy gags won't land quite right. Which is fine if that's what you want, but I wanted to make sure that right out of the box people are getting the intended experience.
