Second footage from the new camcorder!

Once more Rachelle Summers in some frozen moments. This time in my home studio. (Alright, front room with a big ole black backdrop up.)
I'm not sure if the highlights appear a bit blown out because of the fact the room's a bit dim, or what. I had a video light on, but I'm thinking I might need a bigger brighter better one. Rachelle had a really nice portable ring light so I'm thinking of investing in one.
Anyway, for those who are interested, here's the second set of freeze scenes from our shoot:

It's useful advice, thank you. I did ask for people's input over in the Discord so it's not unwanted. ;) I think in the space I have with the backdrop I have (It's nothing special, just a massive black cloth that I purchased) it's probably best to keep video to a minimum if I'm not keeping the camera fixed on a tripod. There's no easy way of moving around without the light levels going all squiffy as I film the backdrop, the subject, the room, then the window and even a decent camcorder has difficulty auto-adjusting. 2019-01-25 11:42:55 +0000 UTCI'm guessing that with you having a 'small' room and a black backdrop, you may be running up against not having enough keylight (overhead), and/or enough (or none at all) back light. With it a certainty your ceilings are not high enough to adequately hang your overheads, I would suggest you try supplementing your overhead with fore & aft back lights. And that would also be dependent on how far you would be able to move your backdrop rearward, and how far down you can get your back lights. (preferably lower than your models and, on course, out of camera view) This is also from the viewpoint of someone a couple thousand miles away and whose expertise is in lighting community theatres and not studio spaces. Hopefully I might spark an idea or two. I know this is unsolicited advice, and like my daddy use'd to tell us, "it's worth exactly what you paid for it." Ric
