RPG Convenience

Today's poll is about convenience vs old school challenge.


Do you prefer when games have items like repels and escape ropes, stuff that turns off enemy encounters and lets you leave the dungeon without having to go to the exit. Or do you prefer an oldschool challenge?

As long as the encounter ratio is balanced I don't really care about which way you do it, what I hate is having an encounter every few steps. Anyway, if you want to make everyone happy adding them might be a better choice; the ones who don't want to use them don't have to use them. One example of that can be Pokemon games: those objects exist, but I never use them because I never feel I need them. If I have an encounter I don't want to fight I can always try to escape...
