First Update of the Month

Hey guys! Hope you had a great halloween! Got a few things to share with you to start up the new month!

First lets start with the twine RPG:


I've decided on a name for it. I think I'm gonna go with Sex, Smoke & Spirits. I've also completely formulated the main plot as well, which helped me pick the name.


The battle system has gotten a ton of work done on it. Basically, each enemy will slot in a bunch of variables including the presents it drops, its stats, and even unique text when you defeat it, or it defeats you.

In the demo, I plan on including around 6 different enemies and one boss, since bosses have about 3x the amount of code needed for them to function.


In Zap and Andy news I've been doing a ton of general code updates and adding to the new rooms.

There's been a few cosmetic changes, like Andy getting pissed every time he has to interact with the shaman. Which is often.

The cherub code has been heavily rewritten to allow sprite scaling to match Zap's when he summons it, no matter the situation. The cherub also moves a bit faster.

And of course, the next section of the game has begun, where you learn a lot more about Zap and Andy's past.

There's been a lot of other tiny tweaks as well, like altering that pathing for several rooms, changing the code that checks how far you are into the ingredient collecting quest, and adding a whole bunch of new graphics and characters. (We're up to over 3000 unique frames of animation now!)

I'll be back on Tuesday with more updates to the new section of the game, and if its fully functional, a complete run through of SS&S's battle screen!
