2025-06-14 20:27:16 +0000 UTCShane is definitely a person who tends to overthink but definitely had to grow up really quickly since being abandoned and neglected by his own parents from what we saw last episode, so he has his struggles in just enjoying his childhood/teen years. This is his first relationship…and that’s already hard to navigate, not to mention it’s with a guy so I feel like he see’s it as harder. That’s why he asks Kit if people will be okay if they love each other, and of course he shouldn’t care what others think/say. That’s easier said than done for him though, just like other people. It’s easy for Kit. For Shane who’s always been the person who has always strived for success/achievement and following the rules, he is now beginning to learn to be a teenager which means being in a relationship. He’s always had to use achievement to keep himself afloat, to give himself validation because he had never been given that from his parents. He’s never had to turn to his parents if he is having relationship struggles since he’s still a teen figuring things out to ask for advice. All he could do is to cope how he knows how which is drinking at the moment (even if the drink wasn’t alcohol), which of course may not be the bestest option when angry but he is still learning. Plus, at least this got them to talking even though I’m sure Shane either pretended to be drunk so he could talk to Kit or he himself actually thought he was drunk lol. My apologies for the long comment and psychological analysis of Shane, I have a habit of doing that for characters 😭🙈. If you read this, thank you! 🫶🏼
