Hot Fuzz is my fave and I know World’s End is divisive but I think Simon Pegg’s performance in that movie is his best as someone who’s known addicts like that who never left the peak of their youth behind.

He had a couple of comedy songs funky moped and didn't we have a miserable time then day we went to Blackpool

2025-09-16 15:18:57 +0000 UTCAlso I think The Walking Dead was a big influence for not using the Z word - even though it makes sense in that universe (because zombie media isn't a thing in-universe so it's completely new to them all.) Then it became a fun writer-room meta thing.

I actually just moved out of London, but for 9 years I lived in Crouch End - one street over from the street they live on in this/the corner shop. The view from the flower shop (where the zombie is chasing pigeons on the green) is just a 30 second walk away too - and it's where they filmed the opening credits of Peep Show with the TVs in the window. It's very bougie now, but it used to be a big student area with a lot of acting students.

2025-09-16 13:33:28 +0000 UTCOk this is locked and loaded to watch this evening. Hot fuzz is the best of the three for me. I lived with my parents when they shot the third film, The World’s End and Simon Pegg picked the location close to where he lives…. So they shot The World’s End between my town and another local one. My brother and all his friends got to be extras… and even better, the grand finale is shot OUTSIDE my parents front door. 😂 . It’s a film about a pub crawl and the final pub is 20 seconds from my childhood house! We were told to shut all windows and doors because of smoke effects but all the alarms still went off so we sat outside with the crew and my mum made them cups of tea. Met Edgar wright, Simon, nick and… the guy who plays filch in Harry Potter, he was in hot fuzz, and Frey in game of thrones.
