Whether you ship something or not, I think any real tender moment with another character that is actually helping or getting to know them is just?? Its so much more than just shipping. It's something really cute and genuine I wish more people could appreciate.

But I mean, with Envy, Pride and Wrath, Nevy, Pedri and Wrathia's history, and this happening with Gil, Odin and Ava... history repeating itself through the hosts was always one of my theories. Gil falling for Odin, Odin and Ava eventually getting together, and Gil, like Nevy when Pedri and Wrathia sealed the deal, being... well, envious. And sad. EITHER WAY, I LOVE THIS SCENE A LOT, NO TOMATOES, BOUQUETS

2018-05-15 20:47:39 +0000 UTCI think the main reason for all the flack isn't necessarily the gilodin scene, but the situation surrounding it. Like from what Nava said, Ava is literally crying in the next room after being slapped (deserved or not) and Gil (with just as much need to be comforted) is getting all the love. I understand that life isn't fair, and we can't all expect some hot hairy dude to come comfort us, but from i recall seeing (aka the tumblr tag) pple were mostly miffed about the cover of this chapter being ava and odin and the following being none of them together. So i guess a lot of them got their hopes over that. I think part of the issue is that since the comic's pacing is once weekly for about a minute of action, ( not that i am ungrateful for all the breath taking panels, i slurp up every detail like it's instant noodles ) but i understand that this is the layout you chose for this comic as you understand best. I just wanted to offer an insight from what i can tell, is part of the reason i saw so much salt in the tags. A lot of people have been following this comic since the beginning, and as a result of the hiatus ( not blaming you whatsoever ) people became attatched to the characters that weren't fully introduced yet, and filled up the gaps via what seemed to be the case. I guess you could say pple aren't getting what they dreamed of, and as a result, aren't sure of the comic anymore? I know from your perspective everything is explained, but for the comic readers they're dealing with a lot of things at once, with only a bit of information at a time. Once again, it is your comic and i would loathe for you to change it for fans, and you definitely shouldn't. I however, would ask that you investigate sources of criticism since they do generally come from a lack of understanding rather than just mindless hate (not that there isn't plenty of that lol). The character we understand best as of right now is Ava, or at least that seems to be the case. As a result the fandom is going to be very biased towards her, and Gil is going to be cast in a negative light in comparison. I don't think it's possible to get everyone to love every single character and ship, but you can help the readers understand them better which between the two, i think is more important. I sincerely hope the fandom doesn't make you dislike some of your own characters due to their favoritism, but their favoritism isn't going to stop. People are still going to hate Maggie and Gil, maybe even after they're fully fleshed out. Gil reminds me of an ex coworker i had, and as a result, he's not my favorite. That isn't your fault or Gil's fault, that's just that. I'm sure a lot of people relate to your characters and see their own experiences in them, which is up to their interpretation. Put this on the internet, where people are 10x amplified, and people are going to say they wish Gil / Maggie ( gil & maggie as examples because a lot of people seem to have beef with them ) should get hit by a truck and die. It's important to understand that this is simply going to be common place, which brings us back to the original issue at hand, which is the stubborness of the flaming arrow fandom. Which, i am getting tired of typing on my phone and will summarize it as 'captain goes down with the ship' as they will too. I think this goes for all of the characters and ships, they will go down, screaming at you. That's the beauty of being a comic author i guess. You probably already knew all this, but i wanted to say it anyway. So uh, yeah, hope you get what i was trying to say. Sorry bout' all the shit you've gotten recently. Just keep chugging a long?
