First Time Watching Inside No. 9 SARDINES PATREON VERSION

My Mrs noticed there was a #9 plaque on the inside of the closer door frame too. I can't wait to watch more lol

BTW idk if you know but there's a fun Easter egg where there's a golden hare statue hidden (or not so hidden in some cases) in every single ep that you can try and spot

Anna

I was going to give the titles of a few worthwhile episodes from the first couple of series, but looking at the list, there are a lot of very strong episodes early on and it would have instead had to be 'you can probably skip these couple of episodes, maybe?' Special mention to A Quiet Night In (Series 1, Episode 2) because of how well done it was, and also Cold Comfort (Series 2, Episode 4), which I don't want to spoil so won't say anything about.

Thanks Adam Hills. How's your foot?

Like a few others have said I would recommend just watching them all in order, I've only watched up to season 6 but I would say so far I don't think there are any "bad" episodes and I would say while some would come up a lot everybody will have different favourites (I know one of my favourites is on the lower rated end xD) so watching them in order would be the best and most enjoyable option I think

Agreed. Well said.

Katherine Parkinson and Jim Howick play a couple in a sitcom called Here We Go which just got a third series last week. Maybe not a reaction thing but it's very good. It's written by John from Quacks (and he's in it)

There are loads of episodes and although you can skip around i think it's like black mirror where I'd just watch all of them in order anyway cuz none are really bad enough to skip completely I'd say

Anna

I think watch them in order, mate. As with any show that you watch ('Taskmaster', 'Peep Show', 'Black Mirror'), there will be episodes where fans say "I can't wait for you to watch THIS one". Throughout all the 'Inside No.9' series there will be some amazing episodes, some good, and some that don't quite hit the mark, for whatever reason. Watching the higher recommended episodes first is all fine, but what's going to happen once you've burnt through those? Keep going with a more middling watching experience for you and your viewers, or stop altogether? You could ask 10 people their 3 favourite episodes, and while the same 3 or 4 titles will appear in a majority of the replies, the rest will be a completely different mix. Or you pop up a poll with all the titles and say "I'm just going to watch the top 10 episodes, and that's your lot", but that's kind of doing Pemberton and Shearsmith a bit of a disservice (if that sort of thing matters to anyone!) Ironically for a show that doesn't have a narrative order, it's going to shine a light even more on the order that you do decide to watch them in! But that's just, like, my opinion, man

I'd recommend watching episodes 2 and 3 as well, as along with episode 1 they give you an idea of the variety of tones the show can take. Then you can start taking recommendations and dipping in and out (or you might decide to just do them all!)

I've just remembered Matthew Baynton is in an ep called Diddle Diddle Dumpling but only in a fairly minor role, is another great ep though. Nick Mohammed , Asim Chaudry and Susan Wakoma are in eps too

Key and Parkinson both appear in the last episode (playing themselves) but I beleive Lee Mack and Sian Gibson are the only other TM contestants to appear. Its honestly worth watching the entire series, every episode has its own feel, style and tone and the first 3 seasons in particular are flawless imo. If you want some highlight eps though: 12 Days of Christine (widely considered to be the best ep) A Quiet Night In La Couchette Tom and Jerri The Riddle of the Sphinx Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room (Sian's ep) Dead Line Zanzibar Halloween Live
