December Movie Poll
Added 2023-12-03 11:39:46 +0000 UTCOkay I'm getting these polls back to the start of each month.
The last poll was won by PITCH PERFECT, and I will be doing all of those movies over the coming months (because the Mrs insists).
Also, The Lord of The Rings will be a monthly movie series starting at the end of December

2023-12-09 20:06:53 +0000 UTCHi Adam! I am happy you found these comments helpful! I was a bit worried I could come off as being rude or a bit too intense about it, so this is reassuring. :) Yes, I can confirm this is not a book nerd issue, it's just a general film quality issue. The theatrical editions just feel a bit off in comparison to the extended ones. The extended editions are not the movie + extra stuff from the books, but just the normal movie the way it was meant to be made. In the case of LOTR the theatrical cuts are the ones considered to be a sort of strange sub-product, not the standard one that people actually watch and re-watch. People consider the extended edition to be the standard one, so watching the theatrical version would just be really weird, cause people just don't watch those versions ever. As I was mentioning above, in the theatrical editions characters literally disappear and important plot points get fully erased, leaving quite a lot unexplained. Your reactions will not be very popular if you don't bother watching the version of the movies that people watch and like. It's LOTR fans that watch LOTR reactions, and I don't think LOTR fans would accept the theatrical version. If you research this a bit you will find most people don't feel like the theatrical versions should ever have even existed! Be careful not to be spoiled when looking for other opinions though! :)

2023-12-09 20:01:57 +0000 UTCMy only addition to these comments is that the extended versions are popular because the whole series is so incredible and so beautiful its like being at an incredible banquet and skipping some of the courses. These films are worth the extra time! That is all I can say.

2023-12-09 04:39:41 +0000 UTCI love the fact you shared this opinion I really appreciate it. I am flying so blind I don't want to take on more work purely for the book fanatics, but I also don't want to dismiss the extended versions either without any context. When I did Harry Potter I got so many comments about moments that were in the books, and I dont think any of them would have been something that created a good reaction moment, that's why I am a bit cautious about volunteering extra work. And I honestly have no idea how popular either version is because I'm a complete noob to this world. But I do find your comment really helpful :)

2023-12-05 23:00:54 +0000 UTCHi Adam, thank you for responding to my comment! No, I haven't even read The Lord of The Rings books. :) I understand the movies are long, but people (fans) really watch only the extended editions. Totally get the spacing thing though, and thank you for explaining it. :) I would get on board with the monthly release, but I would not bother watching if it wasn't the extended editions, to be completely honest. I am surprised you would think that a LOTR audience would be happy with the theatrical ones, considering how unpopular they are...! You do you though! Maybe other watches feel differently about it.

2023-12-05 13:27:28 +0000 UTCThankyou for the comment Mercedes, I see you're very keen for this lol 1. I am undecided if I'll do the extended editions, the way you describe it sounds like the theatrical versions don't make any sense without context, but I wonder if that is because you are someone who has read the books multiple times and intimately know the story deeper than I ever will. I have been asking other reactors for their opinion on extended v theatrical, so we will have to see how it goes. 2. Honestly from a channel perspective, its better to space them apart, it'll draw more people to Patreon and it'll grow the channel, meaning by time I get to the final movie I will have a nice healthy LOTR audience instead of most viewers finding out about the series after I've already finished (the more views a video gets in the first 48 hours, the more YouTube does to promote that video) There is a lot that goes onto these decisions :)

2023-12-03 23:16:19 +0000 UTCExcited for Pitch Perfect and The Lord of The Rings! I know it goes without saying, but please make sure to watch the extended editions of The Lord of The Rings! The theatrical editions have incomplete storylines, important events cut out, and characters disappearing out of the blue. Would you mind my asking... Isn't a month in between them a bit too long...? Just asking because I know I will be dying in desperation. đ Most people who do reactions to these tend to do them weekly. Would you consider a release every two weeks, maybe?
