The fact that you are considering it to be the best album you’ve heard this year 🥹 This album sold 10 million copies worldwide, and was #1 on the billboard charts. She won 3 Grammy Awards, for Best New Artist in 1994, along with Best Female R&B Vocal Performance two years in a row for Another Sad Love Song in 1994 and Breathe Again in 1995. Her most recent album came out in 2020 and she still performs to this day! Also, growing up she didn’t like her deep voice and felt like it was different then others. Toni was raised in a religious household with her younger sisters Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar. They grew up singing in church and formed a group called The Braxtons. Toni was eventually discovered and signed as a solo artist to Babyface and La Reid’s label LaFace Records, leaving her sisters singing backup during her early career.
