Getting Some Color on Vacation

You were looking so forward to this trip.

A getaway with some friends, including your longtime crush?

Everything seemed to be going perfectly. Especially the night you two just spent out on the beach, nursing glasses of wine & watching the bonfire, listening to the sound of the waves?

But then this morning, you swore you felt a bit… puffy.

No!

Not now! No way!

You buried those creeping anxieties down so deep, you didn’t even bother to give them a second thought. That’s how badly you needed to have everything go your way!

It wasn’t til just before lunch. After you & all your friends spent most of the morning enjoying the salty ocean waves, the refreshing breeze. You had the beach mostly to yourselves that whole time, with the summer crowds only coming out to spread their towels now. Convenient time to finally get out of the water & get something to eat.

Only on your way back to the shoreline, you notice some of your friends giving you some strange looks. Then your crush timidly clears their throat.

“Is… everything okay?”

“Huh?” You respond, puzzled as to what could even be the matter, as your arms are out at your sides, wading. “Yeah, why?”

“I… I think you… well… are you like… allergic to anything…?”

It still doesn’t even register at first until your foot finds purchase amongst the soft, wet stand & you attempt to stand in the water.

As your arms go down to your sides, you realize there’s suddenly a bit more of you in the way, causing them to stick out, preventing them from hanging straight towards the grounds. Is that… your hips…?

Instinctively, you pull your hands from that weird sloped angle to right in front of your face. And as you already guessed it, they’re slowly taking on a very blotchy blue.

It’s just like you feared. Just like you wanted to avoid thinking about.

The product of that factory tour mishap almost six years ago at this point, coming back to haunt you, once again, at truly the most inopportune time, of course!

You’re having another one of your episodes. And by all accounts, it seems to be a pretty rapid, severe one! Perhaps exacerbated by the salt water? Osmosis? You’re not a scientist, but you do recognize that this is not at all good.

Worse yet, there’s no concealing it.

If this were any other occasion, you would’ve paid better attention to those odd feelings you had when you first woke up, gotten in the shower, & used your squeezing gear. Juice yourself, & avoid any of this. Then take the day, work from home, not over exert yourself, & wait for the episode to pass.

Hell, that’s how you’ve been able to keep this whole thing so under wraps!

But now?

Now everyone is staring.

At how blue you’re getting. At how suddenly you’ve seemed to pile on what looks like two hundred & fifty bottom heavy pounds onto your once lithe body since stepping into the ocean.

Only two of your friends even know about this condition of yours. And even then, you only even trusted the one to see you during an episode before. And, god bless her, she tries to step up, realizing what is going on, & run interference. She does her best to usher the rest of your party back to the beach & assure them there’s nothing to see here, her attempts aren’t working.

Everyone just keeps gawking at you, as you swear you can feel your body growing just the slightest bit wider, rounder.

In your head, you’re trying to gauge how full you’re feeling. The ‘sloshiness.’ To conduct the laymen’s math in your head just to understand how truly fucked you are. Dammit, you knew you should’ve paid attention to those first feelings of puffiness! You’re usually far more careful than this.

And now this one might almost be as bad as the first mishap that put you in this position! And seemingly? Quite a humiliating beach holiday, to say the least.

You timidly look into your crush’s eyes, realizing they still seem deeply concerned about what’s happening to you. At least they’re not laughing at you. That seems like a good sign, you think, desperately clinging to any optimism.

“Um… I think there’s something you should know about me…”

Another butt-centric quickie, but this one spurred on this little vignette as well while I was finishing up the art. Just a quick way to explore a couple of quick ideas in a very brief easy way.

Love the colors on the picture, and the vignette's pretty sweet too!
