A Reexamination
Added 2025-06-18 01:58:39 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t necessarily call this a ‘redo,’ but it’s just a kind of similar vibe I was looking to try another stab at. Reexamining an old premise.
With like a helplessly round woman, inflated for some reason & concerned, while too big to squeeze through the doors of an emergency clinic, overhearing medical professionals discussing her condition a little too carelessly. I tried it once… holy fuck… back in 2008. And Anyway I started drawing a tight shot of an inflated woman’s worried face & figured maybe I could try something of an update.
But if that wasn’t enough, I had another premise come to me while shading, with a bit of a darker tone. So I included a slightly different version as well, with a tweaked premise. But be warned, it might be a little on the darker side.
All that said, as always, I think the threat of popping is better than actual popping. So while your own head canon may vary, in mine, she only, mysteriously continues to keep growing.
In other news, I have a few other posts scheduled coming up. And I’m working on both the Zatanna fan art & the princess comic for release soon, as well as finishing up some of the sketches I previewed recently. Going into July, I might try to offer another roadmap. But just know, more stuff very soon!

Yeah I kind of just like frazzled medical professionals with loose lips just not knowing how to react to such a situation. Popping might seem inevitable, especially at first glance, but who's to say they do, y'know? What if it's just swelling up bigger & bigger & bigger? LoL Thanks!

2025-06-18 11:03:08 +0000 UTCI mean other than her having a very mid-aughts style to her hair & that weird headband ribbon thing, I think it stands up pretty well, I just like the premise. Thanks. I know there's archived versions of my old stuff, but a lot of the really old stuff is kinda embarrassing to me now just starting off. Happy folks still enjoy some of it, & can find it if they really want to seek it out, but I'm not looking to necessarily broadcast it LoL But that's kind of like doing the 'remaster' tag here. Taking another pass at an older thing. Like George Lucas updates, just without destroying childhoods.

I may have read a piece similar to it or at least gave a similar vibe although it went with popping as its ending after the build up from the threats alone. Happy you went back and 'redid' this piece!
