The first idea for Beast Planet came to be waaay back when I was 18 years old. Over the years it's provided the backdrop for many artworks, writings, and multimedia projects. For that, I have a deep well of established concepts and lore to build from. Along with the current game development, I would like to sprinkle in some of these older materials to provide more history and context to the project. So called world building.
The first image is such material - sort of an encyclopedia entry created back in 2009, explaining the pivotal concept of Medicreation. you should be able to read the text if you expand the image. As a piece of fundamental lore this concept is still relevant to the game.
As for the game itself, I'm mostly still grinding along on the city building. Already revising and expanding on some of the structures. It's not just a matter of pixels. Everything is treated with thought, as the culture and logistics play into the aesthetic, all while balancing with the game design for playability.
