Shape of the Universe - 7
Added 2022-04-04 22:06:04 +0000 UTCHow about a redo. So, I started over from scratch on the third scene. Since the last update, I continued working on that composition for a while, but ended up tossing it in the B-sides folder. Mostly it's the aerial viewpoint and overly lush landscape that wasn't working for me. I want to be able to show more detailed characters, and the landscape should not be so lush and enchanting. I want it to be fantastically beautiful, but also have an ominous dystopian feeling. I should have stuck more closely to the concept in my original thumbnail sketch.
The new version brings the camera back down to the ground where it's possible to show more zoomed in characters, and still have a wide view of the city in the distance. I played around more with including forested areas, but again it made the mood too happy and calming. I think the vibe is very close now. Still missing some elements, and I'm sure I can further refine the colors, but I'm feeling much more excited about how this one is coming along. Much greater potential for the animated version as well.
