Status Report (A lot of Amy stuff done)

Phew! Got quite a lot done in the first half of this month. Secretly, I'd been hoping I could release the camping update by the end of this month, but it's clear now that there's just no way. As a rule, I don't like vocalizing deadlines, but I'm really shooting for having this out by the end of July instead.

There's a lot of content in this update, because it features a sex scene with all four ladies (Stella, Amy, Kelly, Julie). You can't see all four in one playthrough. Much like the Samantha update, you'll have to choose, though the choice is presented in a different manner.

As of right now, almost all non-sexual content for the camping update has been written. I still need to figure out exactly what imagery will go where, and how the music might change and stuff, but that's pretty easy. There are some fun little interactions between Flin and everyone else in the group, including Flin's first real conversation with Stella's father, David (though I suppose it is more of a lecture than a conversation). I may want to add some additional stuff to the event to give you a few suspicion-related choices.

By this point in the story, the game actually cares about who you're romantically involved with, so you'll only be approached by those characters. You may still have innocent interactions from time to time.

In terms of imagery, I've decided to start with making the sexual content first, because that's far more difficult. I can tell I'm gonna be tempted to include a lot of custom hiking CG's in this event to help bring it to life a bit, and I'd rather do that after I've dealt with all the hard stuff so I don't wear myself out doing extraneous shit.

And on that note, a lot of Amy's stuff is done. A little of Kelly's is done (mostly what you've seen in the commissions), and Julie had a lot of camping stuff already finished going in. But she needs more, and some of her current stuff debatably needs updating.

Every non-Stella heroine will have at least two tent sex animations. One will be recycled, one will be new, and any additional ones...we'll see.

Odds of being caught

The game mechanic I'm working on right now is how best to capture the risk of being caught here.
Usually, your risk of being caught is based on the product of your current suspicion and a "suspicion factor" unique to that scenario. The highest in the game right now is the couch sex with Julie, at x8 (which gives you an 8% chance of being caught per positive point of suspicion). This camping event will be set at x20.

But even if you do get "caught," many events in the game give you a second chance to get out of it based on your finesse stat. Also, if you have zero or negative suspicion, there's absolutely no chance of being caught.

And I like how that works for most events. But for this one, the risk of the situation isn't just based on how suspicious people are around you. Even if Stella didn't suspect a thing, there's a chance she could hear erotic moans coming from your tent tonight, and that would be game over.

So I'd like to add an additional layer of risk to this event specifically, which takes your finesse stat heavily into account. Your finesse stat has always represented your ability to be subtle, stealthy, casual, etc. And frankly, I think it needs a buff, because I hardly ever pick the "+3 finesse" option.

So my goal here is to reward people who have built up finesse a bunch in a non-ascension run. And to create tension.

You can get your finesse to 100 - 150 by that point in the story if you focus on it a lot, so I think just having a simple formula of (100 - finesse)% chance of being caught seems good to me. Obviously this will be child's play in an ascension run, but that's fine.
