Added 2021-02-03 00:28:31 +0000 UTCThese three images help illustrate a curious problem I run into with cel-shading and what I like to call "implied breast mass."
To put it bluntly, Amy's rack looks rather massive in the first image. In the following two images, it looks significantly less so to me (still big, but...). The model is identical - literally the only difference is whether we're looking at a bra or a shirt. And no, the shirt doesn't have more buffer-space between it and the naked model.
I think the deciding factor is the bit of cloth that stretches between Amy's breasts on her shirt, which the bra doesn't do (it's more form-fitting). I think my brain imagines that Amy's cleavage fills that entire space, whereas the bra disrupts that illusion.
That, coupled with the solid coloring from the cel-shading, leads to a somewhat annoying issue of "size inconsistency" between images. Perspective, clothing, and shading all play a huge role. It is NOT enough to just model the boobs once and say "done for all angles."
Oh, and how does her black bra remain completely hidden underneath that shirt? I suppose that's one of life's great mysteries!
