10 years, blimey.
Ten years ago today, I founded MinskWorks to create Jalopy. What started as a portfolio project to help me move beyond a junior design role has since turned into a decade-long journey in the industry. Funding Thatcher-era life sim, Landlord's Super, and giving way to a whole new driving experience with Honcho.

Cultural snobbery has receded these past 10 years. i.e. Blender is cool now.
Merchandise is a pain in the ass.
Social media is a pain in the ass.
Keep pets in the office, they will let you know when you're working too much.
Originality grants leniency due to it's innate sincerity.
Steam's 30% is a fair deal.
Something you feel will find it's own form.
Jalopy, Landlord's Super and (eventually) Honcho are the only projects that have made it to the public. Some stuff that didn't make it include a point & click adventure game called REVENGE with a 'ceaseless narrative'. A First-Person Quake-like-rogue-like called She Saw Valkyries. A tarot-card reader with no name. A horror game called Animal Cage and some other goofy stuff. Revenge was interesting but it wouldn't have made any money. Everything else was terrible.

MinskWorks only exists because of your support buying our games and donating on Patreon. 10 years really is a great run thanks to you all. I can't wait to get Honcho out. You really can see that I've gotten a better understanding of the craft with it.
Cheers,
Greg
