Alice knew she should not have accepted a tiny puff from the Caterpillar's hookah, but she thought it would have been rude to turn it down. The powerful smoke turned her head at once, and she fell to her knees, dizzy and flushed. Her clothes felt abnormally hot and stifling, and she seemed to be... wriggling out of them?
"I'll ask you again," the Caterpillar lazily drawled, "Who.... are... you?"
"I'm... I'm.... I'm not exactly sure?" Alice mumbled as she pondered the question, "I used to be called A... something. Now that you mention it, I don't know who I am!"
"Well, you look like a caterpillar, if you want to know," her host stated.
The Caterpillar Girl looked down at her body, which was still growing longer and segmented with every passing minute.
"A caterpillar? Why, I suppose I am at that," she murmured in wonder.
Wonderland had just gained a new permanent resident.
