G'day everybody,
today I'm coming to you with some news about the next update(s), as well as, I guess, a general update about how things are going and whatnot.
First things first, the game stuff:
Those of you who are on the Discord may have noticed a lack of progress reports about v0.32. That's not because I forgot to post them or anything, but because I hadn't decided how to post them yet. I will post the first one for v0.32 later today.
Now, what do I mean by "how to post them"?
Basically, I'm trying a new approach to my workflow with this update, making the guesstimation of how far along the update is a bit awkward. You'll (hopefully) come to understand why that is once I explain this new workflow I'm trying.
Until now I would write the script for an update, then create the renders, and finally add the music and do some coding, if necessary. This time I'm going to write for a while to create more "cohesive" content, that I can back-edit before it goes out to you, making for a hopefully overall better experience for everyone.
We're not talking about months of writing time, though. I don't intend to lengthen the dev cycle considerably. On average it should stay the same. However, the next update (v0.32) might be delayed by a couple weeks, compared to the usual time between updates.
If all goes to plan, this should mean that I then have a chunk of writing already done, enabling me to just do rendering/music/code for each update before sending it out to you.
This could mean that those updates will be released closer to each other, but I'm not sure yet if I'm actually going to do it like that, or if I'm going to keep the usual schedule up, using the leftover time to write the next batch. All of this is very much a test and might not even work for me as a new approach, making me go back to the status quo of writing > rendering > stuff > release.
In fact, I'll write it up in the above fashion for comparison real quick.
Current method:
Writing > Rendering > Music/Code > Release
New method:
Writing > Writing > Writing > Rendering > Music/Code > Release > Rendering > Music/Code > Release > Rendering > Music/Code > Release
Alternate new method:
Writing > Writing > Writing > Rendering > Music/Code > Release > Writing > Rendering > Music/Code > Release > Writing > Rendering > Music/Code > Release > Writing
Confused? Yeah, me too. But I do think that one of the new approaches might help optimize my workflow, thus ultimately improving the quality and/or quantity of future updates.
------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, that was a lot. But we're not done yet.
The next update itself is looking really nicely so far, with the writing for it basically being done, making everything I write, from here on out, future update content.
I know this is very vague, but I'm really excited for what's in CH's near future, content-wise. Things are taking a bit of a turn, hopefully freeing up some of MC's schedule. Poor guy had so much planned that there was no time left in the day.
(There's also going to be some fancy new stuff like pretty hand-crafted maps and a cute new girl.)
But yeah, as I said, I'm really excited for what's to come and I hope you lot are going to love it as much as I already do.
Things are going into the next phase.

Finally, a quick update about miscellaneous stuff:
Things are cool, I'm doing well, nothing to report here.
Well, that one was rather quick. I hope you don't mind, cause I really don't know what to tell you here. No news is good news, right?
Anyway, thank you so much for your support, my beloved patron. I appreciate it a metric frickton.
Cheers!
