Dev Log 15/03/2023 - Crimson High v0.22
Added 2023-03-15 17:58:38 +0000 UTCAloha, amigos!
First of all, let me give you an overview about the progress of the next update: It exists.
Just kidding of course. It doesn't exist. Yet! Well, not in its entirety, at least. However, it is coming along very nicely and turns out to be longer than expected. Also there's more steamy stuff in it than I had anticipated. Some of it even surprised myself because it was not planned to happen at all. But when the characters demand, I gotta create!
What sounds very weird at first is actually just me following inspiration and interesting ideas. And I quite like where it's taking the update.
The writing should be done by tomorrow, I think, and afterwards I can begin creating the renders. Usually at this point I could give at least a rough estimate of when the update might be done, but this time that won't be possible. My girlfriend hurt her foot at work and is now home for at least another week and needs to be taken to the doc for some kind of therapy, pretty much every weekday. And well, of course I'm the one who has to take her. Long story short, I've got 1-2 hours less per day to work on the update, which makes it harder to guesstimate when I'll be able to finish it. I hope to be able to finish it for next weekend but.. well, we'll see, I guess.
Now, there's another thing I want to tell y'all about, as well. After a couple months of testing, I've come to the conclusion that the way updates are released needs to be changed (again). This time we won't add but take away instead. Time, that is.
What that means in practice is that I'll condense the release tiers from 3 down to just 2.
The current model I have in mind (might be subject to changes before the next update gets released) would look like this:
Tier 2 (immediate access): Progenitor, Heir, SECSI, Infiltrator, WAP, Inquisitor (+ legacy tiers of Student Council and above)
Tier 1 (7 days after T2): Enforcer, Detective, Initiate (+ legacy tiers of Class Rep and below)
Tier 0 (7 days after T1): Public
So, essentially there is one less week of waiting for most tiers. For some others nothing will change, except for the name of their release tier. (Tier 2 > Tier 1, etc.)
This should not only shorten the waiting time in general but will also make it easier to get into the initial release tier.
Aside from that I don't have much to talk about right now. I'm doing well, all things considered, and I'm looking forward to summer.
I hope all of you are happy and healthy, too, and I can't wait for y'all to play the next update of Crimson High.
And on that note I'll end the dev log thingy and wish you all a pleasant day!
Thanks for being awesome and supporting me in this endeavor! You guys and gals rock!
Cheers!
