FREE MAHMOUD KHALIL

OA1137 - The arrest and detention of U.S. lawful permanent resident Mahmoud Kahlil in direct retaliation for his Constitutionally-protected speech and association as a campus organizer at Columbia University is the single greatest violation of any one individual’s right committed by the second Trump administration to date. Matt explains how an obscure Cold War-era provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act is being used for in one of the only times in modern history to justify the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke Kahlil’s residency, and why this unprecedented assault on Khalil’s most basic civic and political  rights should concern us all.

Finally, in today’s footnote: A January 6th defendant who has won so much that he is truly tired of winning.

I don't know if this is an insane and insensitive suggestion, but could we do an episode of Mo for LAM? Mo Amer's show? covers palestinian asylees, immigration lawyers and big gags. law'd not-so-awful TV?

ahoy

A very sobering ep...this is by far the most illuminating coverage I've seen of this. Thank you

He has a very shady past as lapdog and apologist for Israel. This is what happens when you turn on the hand that feeds you.

Trump wait no Biden eats shit.

The weird errors in the Notice to Appear remind me of my very first job. Ah the good old days of sorting out classic MS Word mail merge fails when the document author didn't know how to do them. "Dear Mr/Ms/Miss/Dr/Cpt/Adml[DELETE AS REQUIRED] LastName, We are happy to confirm your membership renewal or sorry you're leaving"

Oh yes, i should have mentioned that. His chances of release are much better in that posture but this is the only situation in us law i know of in which you can completely win your case while in custody and still be held

I so appreciate this episode. the clarity is bitter but refreshing. fight like hell everyone.

Thank you for this detailed explanation of the government's insane rational for detaining Mahmoud. Assuming Mahmoud wins in immigration court, can the government appeal that decision in federal court?

"He's a sign risk." Yeah, he should have used flags instead.
