Ha ha! I did miss a name update...thanks new work schedule lol. But yeah 9 goals now. And he broke his leg actually. As leg breaks go, it was the tibia which luckily is the quickest to heal. He was out for about 45 days or so, which is insane. And as you said, even more insane that he's still on this pace. Anyway, keep up the great work! Love you all, cheers!

Irregardless of anything, Ovechkin is only 7 goals from owning the record.

On this topic, could Matt respond to Alito's arguments? The order was brief so it didn't address what he said. I only read part of it, but he seemed focused on the fact that once the $2B is transferred it isn't coming back so the district court's order should be stayed - in isolation this sounds reasonable. My understanding is there's no irreparable harm as Trump can't withhold the funds in the first place, but is this even an accurate characterization of the facts and legal issue at hand?

...against all enemies foreign and DOGEmestic

The law is pretty clear-cut on these issues. And challenging it would come at significant cost to civil rights in the workplace.

I don't know if I can bear it, but WTF is going on with the firing squad/execution in SC?

True, but the known limits of the law as it stands vs the theoretical limits that could exist are useful tools to inform someone as to how much risk they should be willing to take on. There's a line somewhere between assuming you're screwed and thereby not acting and doing the asshole's job for them, and becoming the person who the new rule is named after when the case law is created.

I’d like to hear some select passages from ACB’s dissent in San Francisco vs EPA.

Brendan O'Brien

Can we do a bit about how GSA listed a bunch of government buildings as “non-core assets” that they would be selling soon and they included the FBI building (taken off after a couple of hours), the Social Security’s Administration HQ, and the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (brand new buildings). They took this list down now but it was out there for about 12 hours.

Whenever there is a Democrat who is President, how does s/he remove the fascists put in place by the current administration?

Lackey v. Stinnie and the potential harm to civil right protections across the board resulting from the reinterpretation of "prevailing party."

G. T. Blackwell

Will it matter at all that Trump said in his speech that Elon is the head of Doge?

Jen Lytle

I'd still like to hear a little about the legal impact of the DoJ so brazenly lying about Musk's role as head of the DOGE. Plus what's ahead for the woman they threw up as DOGE head.

Gmork

1st amendment only protects you from government retaliation. It does not protect your from the consequences from non-government actors. You have few protections for employment and even less now that Trump is in control of the NRLB.

And on top of that, it’s clear that releasing the funds may come too late for programs that no longer have staff and infrastructure to take in and use the funds. What happens?

Kathryn Koldehoff

I like this topic, and think it would be a good opportunity to hear from an employment lawyer as well.

We finally got a Supreme Court ruling on releasing federal funds (should have been 9-0 instead of 5-4). So what happens if the government refuses to release the funds. Do the litigants sue again for the same thing? This seems like first real volley in the constitutional crisis.

YakkoWarner

Can we talk about the limits of free speech in terms of saying disparaging things about public officials. Like when/where can I say things like “POTUS is a felon” (a statement of fact) or “Trump should eat a bag of dicks” (a stated opinion). What can get me arrested? What can get me fired or disciplined at my job? What if I say this at work and I don’t work for the government?
