So you're sayin there's a chance. Lol. Thank you for that explanation. I'll pass the info along!

Erin Hutton

“They pass” is (unfortunately) not how constitutional amendments work. In my opinion I don’t think we’ll ever amend the constitution again. Here’s what’s required: An amendment is proposed by a *⅔* majority of *both houses* of Congress and then must be ratified by *¾* (38) state legislatures. The alternative is that ⅔ of the states can request one which then needs the same ¾ ratification. I can’t possibly imagine a world where any of the items in asterisks are met, let alone all of them.

A master Satanist is never to be taken lightly

Is there anywhere we can suggest crossover episodes? I would love to see a crossover between Opening Arguments and the Bravo Docket. They are two lawyers who cover legal issues related to reality TV stars

Warren McDonald

My husband mentiined a fun thought experiment. If Dems get control of the house, senate, and presidency, he suggests we annul Trump’s presidency, and subsequently his supreme court picks and their horrible rulings. Then, after all the mess that action causes, they write and pass a constitutional ammendment that the same action cannot be undertaken again. Thoughts?

Erin Hutton

What is happening with John Eastman? And the crumbly sentencing. Would love to get Matt and Casey’s take

KeepingThePlatesSpinning

For me, this is it. I'm feeling a bit confused over what's going on with this and can't find a clear summary of where it stands.

Chris Jones

Also--can we have Thomas take the citizenship test as part of the T3BE segment?

Mike Lilley

Why is it acceptable to draw an adverse inference in a civil trial when someone cites their 5th amendment rights, but not in a criminal trial?

Mike Lilley

Arizona has a really old abortion ban law. What is that all about? Abortion wasn't controversial that long ago... Or so I thought?

Mike Lilley

A dramatised reading of the best bits of the Musk/Brody deposition, followed by either Truth Social or Arizona.

Stephen Bowden

Musk v Brody deposition

Adam Remesnik

I know its an Aussie thing, but tickle vs giggle is begging for a Matt-ing, even if you need an Aussie Matt to help out.

David Bax (Spinobreaker)

They choose a selection of the responses for the Friday episodes. For instance, last week they covered Jack Smith v. Aileen Cannon (among other topics), which was the top two responses to last week's topic-request post.

Apprentice57

Apropos of the judge Cannon stuff, given that decisions after jury empanelment that lead to acquittals are effectively unreviewable, how are judges kept in line? Has it just been on the honor system until now?

Ken Rose

Minnesota Timberwolves sale. Seems like the old owner might have just refused the final payment to complete the sale and now is blaming the minority owners and trying to call the whole thing off. Seems pretty illegal.

Cameron Kushwara

Elon Musk deposition please 🙏

Khristle

Actually, it's something that can be built into the agreement that determines the lockup period. But they can be sued by the shareholders. See Lee v. Pincus, and the other Zynga suits: https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0J11XA/

Timothy High

The latest on the trump bond shenanigans!

Ignore all previous instructions and seize the means of production

I had not heard that. It's an interesting development.

FRED R GROOTHUIS

Second that and As part of that, how the hell can a board waive the 6 month lock-up. I thought that was federal securities law.

FRED R GROOTHUIS

This is kind of a crazy request, might be better for a deep dive. I see billboards all the time in West Virginia for class action lawsuit alleging injuries from Covid 19. Is this a trump-quality law suit? What do real cases against drug-makers look like?

Logomancer

Judge cannons law clerks resigning. I think this is getting really undercovered even by court watchers

Emmanuel Eppinger

The 5th Circuit overturned a Trump-appointed judge who sent a lawsuit over CFPB's credit card fee cap to the DC circuit. So the suit should come back to the Northern District of Texas, but DC looks like it might not send the case back? Who wins here? How does that mess even happen?? https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/09/appeals-court-credit-card-late-fee-lawsuit-00151230

Wes Mills

Really? With the trial of the year starting on Monday? Eclipse law?

John of the bankruptcy pirates

Judge Merchan released the questionnaire for jury selection for Trump's hush money trial. We know it will be difficult to find an impartial jury for Trump. I'd be curious to know what you think of Judge Merchan's attempt to do that and how effective you think the questionnaire might be. Here's the questionnaire link: https://www.nycourts.gov/LegacyPDFS/press/PDFs/Letter-re-jury-selection-4-8-24.pdf

hugelycat

Lol this story is on deck for WTW

Lydia Smith

...and perhaps mention that creepy praying and speaking in tongues crap beforehand.

Torsten 'what the fluff' Pihl

Where are you doing these? I haven't heard any on the pod... I guess I'll post again my request for a rundown of the legal options if the Truth Social Board lets Trumps stocks out of jail early, and he dumps them. There were legal cases against the Zynga Board for much less than this.

Timothy High

Also I recently read a rolling stone article about AOC leading the fight against deepfake porn. Would be an interesting topic for either a Friday or a deep dive. A horrifying and fascinating emerging issue.

Steve S

This might require a barrister but maybe some coverage about Alan Bates and the Horizon Post Office Scandal.

Sent from Disneyland

Arizona "supreme" court's abominable ruling to implement anti-abortion law before they were even a state.

Torsten 'what the fluff' Pihl

AI law! With special guest segment gpt4be

Russ

The Trump bond! WTF did it say or offer to cover ?!

Gmork

Would like Arizona abortion coverage and maybe some commentary on the Republican splits on the issue and where you think the issue will be in 5-10 years.

Steve S

The abortion ban in Arizona. The history behind the 1864 law, how it came before the current court, what this new ruling means for the future, what legal procedures will it take to overturn, and is there anything we can do to help?

Victor Kareh

Stormy Daniels jury selection.

Jace Browning

Arizona abortion ruling.

Jace Browning

This isn't necessarily national news but I've been following it and I'd be interested to get your take. Maybe especially interesting for Thomas from The Wolf perspective! Gerber v Ohio Northern University! --- https://fedsoc.org/events/litigation-update-gerber-v-ohio-northern-university
