There has been so much in the news that Matt and I thought we'd do some bonus recording, both to give you fine folks more content and also to keep practicing and getting into the groove. Matt breaks down the absurd Articles of Impeachment that some Republican intern typed up. Then we talk about the border bill Republicans demanded but then... fought against after Trump said to.

2024-02-12 04:13:16 +0000 UTCthe sacklers are trash but the connection between the border issues and fentanyl is actually right wing propaganda, fentanyl almost exclusively comes through legal ports of entry and is mostly transported by Americans (that’s way easier than trying to smuggle it with migrants). My boss and one of my coworkers have an op ed about this running in the LA times tomorrow.

I think that too many would be annoying as all hell, and I know they add a lot of editing work, but it's something to consider.

The job itself has actually been around since the early '60s, but they were called "Sky Marshals" (which I think we can all agree sounds way cooler) and part of the FAA back then. The program was incorporated into the TSA and significantly expanded after 9/11, which is what I was thinking of when I said that here. My apologies to any air marshals listening. Fly safe!
